Children's Privacy Under COPPA — Axiom 38 LLC · Effective March 1, 2026

We want to be completely open and straightforward with parents and guardians about how Principia handles information from children under 13. This notice is written in plain language so you can make an informed decision about whether to allow your child to use our app.

What Information We Collect from Your Child

When a child under 13 uses Principia, the only information we collect about the child is their learning progress within the app. This includes:

Which math topics and lessons they have completed
Quiz and practice exercise results
Their mastery level within each topic
How much time they have spent on activities

That is the full extent of what we collect from your child. We do not collect their name, photo, home address, phone number, school name, location data, or any other identifying information from the child directly.

We also collect your email address (as the parent or guardian) for the sole purpose of obtaining and recording your consent, and to contact you if there are important issues with your child's account.

How We Use Your Child's Information

We use your child's learning progress data for one purpose and one purpose only: to make the app work as an educational tool for your child. Specifically, this means:

Showing your child their progress so they can see what they have learned
Allowing the app to remember where your child left off
Helping the app suggest what to practice next based on their results

We do not use your child's data for any other purpose. We do not analyze children's data for commercial insights, we do not profile children, and we do not use children's data to improve anything other than their direct in-app experience.

We Do Not Sell or Share Your Child's Data with Advertisers

We will never sell your child's information to anyone. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, marketing companies, or analytics firms. Principia contains no advertising of any kind — not banner ads, not video ads, not sponsored content, and nothing that monetizes your child's information.

The only outside companies that ever receive any data related to your child's account are:

RevenueCat (only if you purchase a subscription) — to confirm your subscription status. They do not receive your child's learning data.
Supabase (only for paid subscribers) — to securely store and sync your child's progress data across your devices. Supabase is a secure cloud infrastructure provider, not a data broker or marketing company.

Your Rights as a Parent or Guardian

As the parent or guardian of a child under 13, you have the following rights, which you can exercise at any time simply by emailing us:

Review: You can ask us to show you all the personal information we have collected about your child.
Delete: You can ask us to permanently delete your child's account and all associated data. We will complete the deletion within 30 days.
Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw your consent at any time. This will result in your child's account being deactivated and their data being deleted. You do not need a reason to withdraw consent.
Stop Further Collection: You can ask us to stop collecting new data from your child while allowing them to continue using features that do not require data collection, if such features are available.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@getprincipia.com from the email address you used when you provided parental consent. Please include your child's account information so we can locate the correct account promptly.

We will respond to all parental requests within 5 business days and will complete data deletions within 30 days.

How We Obtain and Verify Your Consent

Before a child under 13 can create an account in Principia, we require a parent or guardian to complete the following steps within the app:

Step 1: Enter your email address as the parent or guardian in the parental consent section of the account setup screen.
Step 2: Check the consent acknowledgment box confirming that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and that you consent to the collection and use of your child's learning data as described in this notice and our Privacy Policy.

By completing both steps, you are providing verifiable parental consent as required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We record the date and time of your consent.

If at any time you believe a child under 13 has created an account without proper parental consent, please contact us immediately at support@getprincipia.com and we will promptly investigate and delete the account if appropriate.
